What Color Shoes Look Best With a Turquoise Dress

What colour to wear with Turquoise?!

I am looking for a dress to wear to two weddings this summer. I want to use one dress and change it with accessories. I found this dress:

http://www.monsoon.co.uk/Eveni.....ingdresses

I need to work out if I can make two different looks. I was thinking black or navy for one and beige/nudes as second outfit. I acutally found a lovely bag which was beige and had turquoise and red flowers on it so thought perhaps I could work on something with that.

Any ideas? I haven't bought the dress yet so feel free to tell me its horrible!

ooh, that is gorgeous. I am finding that turquoise goes with most anything. If you're wanting to stay sophisticated I could see that dress with metallic silver shoes and silver accessories. I think red is also delicious with turquoise, as is yellow, purple, pink....
what did you have in mind?

thanks Queenie I posted while I was still writing opps. See above for initial ideas.

I should add that I wanted to wear a fascinator or something in my hair to dress it up a bit. It is the wedding of a very good friend so want to look my best.

I don't know that I'd do black for summer, but that bag with red and turquoise sounds like a great idea.
I"d buy the dress and start playing around with it.

My first thought was also silver, any kind of light/medium metallic would be pretty!

If you want to create some contrast, the dress would be really pretty with cranberry or orange-yellow also.

I like the idea of navy, grey or chocolate brown for a darker neutral. I agree that black might be a little heavy unless it's lacey or sheer. Or maybe you could wear some black and mix it with silver or cream. Pretty dress!

With a dress like this is it better to wear strappy heeled sandals or shoes? I would be inclined to go for shoes in a neutral/nude or metalic shade would this be ok with this style of dress. Both weddings are church then evening reception at fairly posh venues.

Such a pretty dress - Monsoon has some great colours in this years range!

Fasinators are great for wedding wear. Accessorize has some great ones and because of the relationship between Accessorize and Monsoon there are often co-ordinating colours. Did you want to go with a comb or headband?

I'm not crazy about black with turquoise but navy, chocolate brown, any metallic, and even brights like yellow or fuchsia would look awesome with that dress. As for style, I'm sure a strappy sandal would look great, but my personal choice would be a peep-toe pump (maybe a slingback).

Thanks for the link Carole - that does help. I like the idea of going for neutral coloured peep-toes as per Ele's suggestion and adding a few splashes of colours most likely corals or reds. I will hopefully buy the dress tomorrow or the next day and start experimenting with it. Thanks to everyone for their advice. I will keep you posted.

Turquoise with coral and white are really pretty for summer- yellow, navy or dark red also works well. I like the idea of nude shoes with the dress.

coral is big this season...you could do turquoise and coral...that bag sounds too delicious..i would definitely work some way out to incorporate that...maybe use beige wrap and shoes.. turquoise n pink is cute ...

for a monochromatic/dark look...i vote navy...black is safe option but does not set your class apart.

I love the dress, it's very chic. Probably not suited to a wedding but I'm pairing turquoise with leopard print after seeing this on the catwalk

Disclaimer: I only wear leopard print shoes.

Julie I love the leopard print with the turquoise, what a fab look. Like you say maybe not best for a wedding but would be a fun way of working the dress for a smart night outfit!

I finally managed to get back and buy the turquoise dress. It is quite snug fitting but the next size was too big and I am willing to loose a few pounds to make it work. Please be honest though if you think it is too tight I will not take offence. I tried it with nude shoes that I already had just to give it height for the picture. I would like to do something quite fun with it but still look posh day-time wedding appropriate. So I am looking for one look that I can mix up to wear for two weddings. Really I just want to know if it gets the thumbs up or not.

Wow! You look amazing. Even though it is slim fitting, it does not look too tight or small. Love how you've styled it and it will be great for a wedding, yet you will be able to dress it down too! A big fat KEEP!

That dress looks fantastic on you. I love turquoise paired with white, but also dark brown, or a pop of red or reddish-orange. Tiger's eye beads would look good with a turquoise dress, or wooden bangles, or carnelian earrings.

That dress is amazing on you! I love the way you used the pearls and nude shoes. Very classy and elegant for a wedding. You're set as far as I'm concerned!

Dress looks fantastic I love it with the pearls and nude shoes makes the dress the star of the outfit x

Stunning! The dress fits as it should, and the color is awesome on you. You can definitely change the look of this dress with different accessories, as you have been planning.

I'll be watching this thread with interest; I have four weddings to go to this summer and am also considering a turquoise dress. Thanks for starting this thread; lots of inspiration alredy!

I was literally blown away by this dress on you, I do not see any need for you to lose weight before the weddings, you look stunning at the moment.

Love the dress and long white necklace on you!

LOVE this dress on you. You have a gorgeous shape, You look beautiful:)

Well thank you very much for the nice comments. The dress is currently in the bag in the back of the car as I was sure that the consensus would be towards returning it! Maybe I should reconsider. I am keen to go for brighter colours, red or cerise pink in particular but still perhaps with netural shoes and fasciantor/hair band thingy!
I feel that it does need necklace type thing over it has it has quite a high neckline and something breaking it up would look better.
Again thanks ladies - can always count on honest opinions here!

Wow! The fit and color is fabulous on you! I like the way you have it styled with the long white pearls knotted and the nude pumps.

For a more casual take in the future, I saw a pretty color combo of turquoise, spring green and blush pink. I was thinking of spring green chandelier earrings, a clutch in a swirl of spring greens and blues and strappy blush pink heels.

AJ that combination sounds really lovely. I might have a look out for accessories in those colours to mix it up for another event. Thanks for the advice.
